I enjoyed the story. The pov shifts between the chapters were hard to differentiate as read by the audiobook narrator. Additionally, the story maintained a similar emotional tone throughout most of the book with little variation, including for the climax of the story. I would still recommend it.

Literally perfect. 10/10, would recommend.
(My one and only complain: the audiobook should've had the chapters marked somehow... I'd much rather stop listening when I'm done with a chapter instead of pausing randomly in the middle of the text.)

Sooo Good!!!!!
It was such an empowering story of three women fighting for themselves and for the people they care about. Just surviving through every obstacle thrown in their path. It was such an empowering and engaging story right from the beginning.
I loved the writing style and how the author switched between different perspectives throughout the book was fascinating.
I really liked how she managed to include the part where a mother wagers het first born(like in the original story). It was totally unexpected and so cool how she took certain parts of the fairy tale and created this completely different and fascinating world.

This was good enough, I guess. I didn't find it nearly as compelling as Uprooted. And it was probably a third too long. It felt like there were two stories conveniently jammed together, then resolved, and then reproblematized to create the happiest possible ending. It wasn't the worst thing I ever spent time on. Just needs some more editing, I guess.
