I loved this collection. Ishiguro writes so well about music and what it can mean to the performer and the listener. Now I can’t stop listening to Ray Charles singing ‘Come Rain or Come Shine’.

Though the stories vary in quality, the first two in the collection are masterpieces of melancholy prose that I would suggest anyone to read, while the final three are good, although they leave much less of an impression.

In his typical fashion, Ishiguro illustrates how unforgivable the passage of time can be to a person.
