Totally loved the art inside the book
Definitely managed to relate to a lot of the scenarios inside the book since I am an ambivert. But few of the scenarios I couldn’t relate to the fear of it due to not being 100% introvert. But could understand the logic of it

This was such a cute book! It is the perfect thing to have lying on a coffee table to enjoy during an intimate tea party with close friends. I actually took notes while reading this book because some of these excuses are very useful to remember in case I need to escape from future social situations. I can’t wait to buy it and show it to my other introverted friends.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

raises handI am very much an introvert, so I couldn’t resist this book. I had to click that Read Now button. I was very much curious to see what kind things this one would give as a way of escaping.

There are various chapters each one dealing with a certain topic. Friends, relatives, co-workers to acquaintances and more. With each chapter we get scenarios that were just oh oh so true (really, I was nodding along) and what kind of things an introvert may do to escape, let people know they don’t want to in a subtle way, tips for conversations which I do want to try myself though I kind of worry it will backfire for instance the ask questions that take long answers.. I can see that end up in a discussion of never endingness, and more. I had quite a laugh, but I was also noting down several of the nicer ways in my head. I think I can use some of these tips/excuses.

I needed this kind of thing to just relax and celebrate being my awkward self.

This book is hilarious! Has some creative ways to “escape” if you’re an introverted! So, it might be funnier if you, like me, rather be on your own than around other people.

Thank you, Netgalley.

This was absolutely fantastic. I loved all the illustrations that were on each page. And the advice was pretty solid too. It was a quick read but despite that, I really enjoyed reading it.

I was looking for short, quick reads to fit my currently reduced attention span (because of a recent surgery and the subsequent painkillers I'm taking). I found this through one of my library apps in the humor section.

The thing is, I couldn't tell if the book was supposed to be serious or satirical. Some of the "introvert escape" routes in each section seemed entirely plausible and practical, while some would definitely lose you friends. I'd have preferred it stick with one or the other, or at least have a different organizational system that indicates if something is real advice or supposed to just be for laughs.
