i take full blame for ever picking this book up. lucy's stalking of adam is mentioned on the blurb, so i really should've known better than to start reading.

as a lover of rom coms, i'm no stranger to how the genre can be problematic at times. humour is subjective, and to hate adam conor is a reminder of that. i found lucy to be weird, juvenile, annoying, perverted and deeply unfunny...she is not the quirky girl-next-door that she thinks she is. somebody lied to her several times! typically, i love a flawed heroine, but i don't think i have it in me to brave 400 pages of lucy's story.

Let’s start by saying that this book needed to be called To LOVE Adam Connor because that’s exactly what I did. I FELL for this man!! He’s a single parent to his absolutely ADORABLE son, Aiden, as well as being sweet, protective, sexy, patient, dignified and just perfection!

I loved Lucy in To Love Jason Thorn and my god, this girl’s story did not disappoint! She had me dying with laughter but also crying with how much I related to her. Yes, it was repetitive in how she felt, but that’s exactly how it feels like in reality and it’s hard to overcome that feeling. I’m so glad we saw a lot more of her friendship with Olive, and I loved her interactions with Jason too! As for her and Adam - wow!! Their banter back and forth from start to finish was hilarious, their lust and love for each other was disgustingly perfect and put Aiden into the mix, you have the CUTEST family ever! 😍

The spice is great in this book, but I LIVED for the sexual tension and flirtatious interactions whilst still trying to maintain the hate with each other. The little games they played with one another had me kicking my legs in the air and grinning like the Cheshire Cat!

I loved the plot throughout as well as all the amazing tropes! I found it more intriguing and exciting then TLJT especially with it having a couple of “oh my god” moments. As much as I liked Olive and Jason, they just don’t compare to Lucy and Adam! 😍 that ending was perfect for Lucy’s story (and yes, I may have cried some happy tears about it)!

Honestly I’m a little disappointed because it has promise and I was really enjoying it despite the rocky start (bc cmon, that was weird and Lucy was crazy to think she should be thanked given the circumstances). The second half was kind of meh, and the ending was surprising and I honestly didn’t love it. There were parts when Adam was really sweet, and parts when I thought he was a little overbearing. Idc if she needs a push, you can’t tell her she has no choice in an important matter. Lucy was a little annoying, but they did have some cute moments together. Honestly Aiden was my favourite part of the book.

Ok wow so I had read to love Jason Thorne and that was iconic and amazing I loved it soo much but I didn’t think a book could be better then that. Boy was I wrong to hate Adam Connor is wow it was so cute and sweet but it wasn’t your typical contemporary romance there were times when I was like what the actual heck just happened
Spoiler like when adam had Lucy arrested after she legit saved his son from drowning, or when Lucy was almost RAPED, and then there was when Adeline fulling went off the hinges and was going to hurt Aiden to save her career 😡, or when Lucy was pregnant with jamesons baby like WHAT
. I also love how it’s a dual POV because it’s just so cute especially in the beginning to see what they are both thinking after certain things happen. Also Lucy wow such an amazing bad ass female character that girl is hilarious and doesn’t let anyone push her around or hurt her ie.
Spoiler how she kicks her attempted rapists ass all by herself because she’s a baddie that doesn’t need to be saved
. She is in no way a weak female mc that needs saving and I loved that about her. Then you have Adam and how protective and good he is to his son (swoon🥰) husband material right there. Overall just an amazing enemies to lovers book that I could not put down. Ella Maise you really did out do yourself. If you haven’t read to love Jason Thorne and are thinking of reading this book first I recommend reading to love Jason Thorne first because you do have those characters in this book and it does help fill in some blanks but it’s not necessary if you only want to read this one. But I say read them both it’s soooo worth it
