Original wholesome story but didn’t move me in the grand way I was expecting. Comforting (closure) and slightly uncomfortable (sad).

mitch ablom is one of my favorite modern-classic writers. Ablom makes the words on paper come alive and every book hits me right in the heart. this, and Tuesdays with Morrie, was recommended to me by my friend's mom. I thought I wouldn't like it because what student likes the same books as forty-something adults? apparently me.

this book all in all was great writing and fantastic pacing, had me wanting to continue as i turned each page. however only 3 stars bc i could not stomach lesson three. absolutely not. if that section was removed the book was beautiful but i couldn’t get past that.

my dad gave this book to me and it is so good. there are five lessons in this book
1. everything happens for a reason (the blue man)
2. sacrifice makes an impact in the lives of other people (captain)
3. forgiveness (ruby)
4. the essence of love (margaurite)
5. every human life has a purpose (tala)
