I enjoyed this book a bit more than its prequel due to its quick moving action and great reveals with some that I didn’t expect. Some naming conventions were too referencey to real life which drew me out of the story a bit. I continue to love the short chapters and the slow burn that appeared wasn’t too intrusive into the plot as a whole. The mission is a great balance of planning with political intrigue thrown in. I’m continuing on to see how this story ends!

Just as brilliant as the first, the Novice world only grows with Taran's vivid imagination.
The variety of demons is more fantastical than I could have believed, the Orcs more brutal and tribal and powerful than first thought.
With so many questions raised and so few answers, as well as a traitor in their midst, The Inquisition is an astounding piece of gripping storytelling, right from Fletcher's capture at the end of The Novice right up until the last page.
Bloody brilliant and I cannot wait for the next in the series!

I am speechless about this book. It was so amazing and I can't wait to see what 's next. I especially love Blue and the gremlin warren. I couldn't stand Isadora and Tarquin, as in the last book. Most of what I would say for this book is what I said in my review of the first book. Again, this book was amazing. I absolutely could not put this book down.

Yet another stellar ending, I fell into a bit of a reading slump halfway through but it was more due to my mood. Keen to finish the series but might give it a minute before reading book 3.

I couldn't understand why everyone said this series was like The Fellowship of the Ring. Now I get it. This book was much more action-packed than the others I have read in the series. I love the addition of new characters like Cress who is so much fun and full of attitude. Not only did this book finally introduce me to the Tolkien similarities, but it also managed to slip into a Hunger Games feel. Very well done. So far, this is my favorite in the series.
