Sparse text and colorful illustrations - a good introduction to the holiday for young students.

This is a nice story about a young boy celebrating Kwanzaa with his family. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is simple in its tellings of the celebration. With this said, I do with there was more information about the celebrations of Kwanzaa because I feel like I did not learn a lot from this, being My First Kwanzaa Book. I do still think it is a nice place to start when introducing young readers to the holiday, I just wish it had a bit more information on the celebrations.
