It's hard to review this because it's an elaboration of an oral tradition rather than a novel. I felt for the women and enjoyed seeing them overcome obstacles. The older man who came to look for them was an interesting character too. The rest were not very fleshed out. This was a unique read.

A wonderful short story about friendship, forgiveness, and overcoming hardship. The narration feels like sitting in your grandma's lap as she tells you stories of her childhood. Overall a very warm and touching story despite taking place in the cold tundra.
Moderate: Animal death and Abandonment
Minor: Ableism, Child death, and Cannibalism
