not sure if i give it 3 or 4 stars? thinking 4 though because this was a quick read that i definitely recommend for everyone but especially all nonblack people. a little disjointed but super funny and i liked it a lot. i feel like this is definitely targeted towards getting nonblack people to be introspective and better themselves but hey they’re the ones who need to learn all this lol. definitely was validating for me to read at this moment in my life though so i’m glad i picked it up

This book is equal parts funny and emotional and fans of Ziwe will love this read. She talks about her experiences in school, her finding her passion as an artist and a creative, and about her conversations about race with her guests and where these conversations have led her. Lots of footnotes so if that’s not your jam this one may not be for you but I thought they added a ton to the humor of this book and the journey Ziwe took us on as readers.

throughly enjoyed. is it the most inventive book, not at all. but ziwes essays really speak on race and culture in a digestible way by combining it with pop culture. A good book for anyone who needs racism 101.

I love Ziwe & her interviews, she’s also a fantastic writer. Last 2 essays felt just a teeny bit weaker but overall this was an excellent collection.
