Audiobook: Don’t let the narration that is halting at the start and the grating squeaky/scratchy voice sway you from reading this book. The reader does get better, and there are multiple readers.

Jennifer Weiner's books are a kind of comfort read for me. I know they'll have great characters, chemistry, and topics that inspire discussion.
Abby was so relatable. As a plus sized woman in her mid-thirties, with a job not a career, with a sense of being underwhelmed when life doesn't look like it's "supposed" to. Making peace with some things, and changing others.
I loved the biking trip! I am familiar-ish with a section of road that they covered and that was especially fun for me. It makes me want to book my own Breakaway!
Overall such a fantastic story that was the perfect end of summer read.
⚠️ Abortion (side character): I can see how this topic is polarizing, but I personally thought it was handled with great care.
Thank you Simon & Schuster and Book Club Favorites for my gifted copy; all opinions are my own.

I loved this book, despite some of the sub-plots being difficult to read. It’s definitely not a feel-good, rom-com romance that I was expecting, but it was written so well that you want to take your time and savor every bit. I could’ve had more Sebastian and Abby and less Morgan and Lily, but overall, a book I’d recommend.
