I AM NOTHING BUT ENDLESS JAGGED SCREAM

Oh my god

OH MY GOD

I...I can't...THAT ENDING...and HARRISTON and CORRICK and OH MY GOD

Look, this book had things I don't generally love. Unexpected love triangles, for example. Misunderstandings due to lack of communication. But it just all WORKED here and was SO GOOD and the characters are SO GOOD and I LOVE THEM and WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I'll just be over here in a corner, rocking back and forth and desperately waiting for Book 3

A solid fantasy story - I think the characters and world the author built in book one carried over to this one really well. However, it falls into the "second book curse" quite devastatingly. We spend like, 300 pages on a boat. Literally.

I almost rated 4 stars because of Tessa. She hardly has a thought on her own. If someone says to her "Oh, Corrick brought you as his personal whor3" she believes it. If Corrick tells her "OH, but I never compromise with you cuz I was waiting for you" she agreed, but then the captain tells her that Corrick is the one with issues, and she believes him too. Like, she won't know who to trust cuz she's unable to have her own opinion until the very end. I wish at some point if someone tries to slut shame her, she would just say "if I want to sleep with Corrick then so be it, none of your business" like, why she think her intimate encounter was such a big deal with the freaking captain that is a stranger??? She felt guilty cuz someone can think "what if she's sleeping with him?" and she got angry with that when all the prince wants was to protect her in her room. it aggravates me! but that's literally a %5 percent, so is not enough to make it 4 stars.

I hope the 3rd book gets better on Tessa, and stop overthinking so damn much.
