Many parts of this are interesting, but I find myself becoming impatient with it overall. May return to it later.

I enjoyed this more than I was expecting.

I wouldn’t recommend this book to everyone

Elric is brooding and dramatic in a way that I find more fun and camp than annoying.

A masterpiece of the genre. You can clearly see the tendrils of what is to become modern fantasy in this book and I am much better to have read it. Elric is a man of principle, torn between what is expected of him as king, what he truly wants in life and, what destiny his gods and demons have for him. I will watch his journey going forward with much appreciation.

A good book. I really liked Elric's character, but then again, he's the only one I liked. It's pulpy and old school, to the point of being dated, but it works well enough, to me at least.

I'm looking forward on reading more of Elric's adventures!

There's many reasons why Moorcock is the master. This is but one of them.
