It’s hard to put into words how much I have loved Ellen Raskin as a graphic artists and children’s author . Fun , silliness and whimsey are full speed ahead in this story . It’s unfortunate she died so early to not have written more .

The ocpy I read had a better cover. This is a great book. It's for kids, but I definitely still enjoy re-reading it as an adult.

A fun read with a mystery that keeps you puzzling the whole book. I'm not sure if the clues are really helpful, but I guess if you wanted to spend enough time thinking about it they could be useful. The characters are wacky and entertaining and the story is even more bizarre, but somehow it all works.

I loved it. I would have told you I had not read it, but I remembered the puzzles.

I loved this book as a kid! When I returned to my mom's house for Christmas and was browsing my old bookcase for the first time in ages, I couldn't resist pulling it out for a quick holiday re-read. It's still as weird and wonderful as ever. And even after ~25 years, the solution to the central mystery came back to me within the first two chapters.

A fun, quirky puzzle box mystery for the youths. Nothing will ever broach the greatness of The Westing Game but some familiar touches are there in this one.
