A hard sci-fi novel which puts me in the mind of the works of classic authors like Asimov, or Clarke, but with a grasp of modern science. It's a book of colossally fun, mind-bending ideas, but it also has a plot tenuously strung together with galactic-scale coincidences, and is told through the eyes some of the flattest characters I've ever read.

I finished it because I had soooo much spare time on holidays. But yeah, it was really good. It took a while for the hardcore sciencefiction themes to get to work, but when they did, it was insane! I can't help myself but instantly start reading the second book, and I'm looking forward to what Cixin Liu has cooking!
