Hot aliens that just want to please, fated mates, action (sexy & otherwise)... ya know I'm gonna read it and I'm gonna love it. Bless Victoria Aveline.

In the first book, I had a totally different impression of Fejo than what he turned out to be in this book. I really loved his confident & charming personality and I think it meshed well with Vanessa's rough edges & bitchiness because he never let her attitude get to him. He really did bring out the best in Vanessa and I'm so glad she finally gave Fejo his happy ending! Sweet babies.

What am I going to do?!

What am I supposed to do with myself when I get to the end of the latest book available in the series??! Go back to my normal life? Read something else? Gods, this one made me cry so much I could barely read the words through my tears. I thought "how can I like this woman who is using this absolute golden retriever of a man?" But god damn, I do like her. Alexa, play "I just don't know what to do with myself".

There are some double standards in these reviews. One reviewer called Vanessa “bitchy” because she keeps people at a distance, but when a male character acts the same way he’s called wounded and strong. I liked Vanessa’s character, she has a bit of a tough past, but she’s loyal, tenacious, and has a strong set of morals.

I liked Fejo’s smiling nature, but I didn’t like how pushy he was with Vanessa, especially sexually. A woman can be aroused and still say no, but Fejo took her arousal as consent despite her objections, and forced her to cuddle him while he was naked. That was really his only negative point, and Vanessa, after objecting, settled and enjoyed cuddling, but it left a sour taste.

This is the first book where the characters travel to other planets and we get to see space travel without the main characters as prisoners (though that happens, too). I liked Vanessa’s and Fejo’s story, and I wish we got more happy times with the couple together. The book focuses a lot on the plot, but we don’t get an epilogue I thought was warranted.
