"Some people, evidently, find it hard to know what to say to someone like me. However, if I allow them to talk about themselves, they’re often very relieved. This suits me just fine, as I’m not particularly interested in their stories anyway."

"I find birthdays difficult. It is the lack of acknowledgment from the world at large that affects me most. Not that I have an inflated sense of self-importance—far from it. It's more a case of feeling that I might disappear and no one would notice."

Presented with the erudite words of a seemingly autistic woman, this book tells a story of realizing that you are worth it and you have value. Wonderful representation of the positive effects of therapy. Eleanor experienced a lot of pain but I am glad I got her story

This was the story of an autistic woman dealing with adulthood and reflecting on her past. The first half of the book is friendly and sweet. The second half takes on a darker tone, but I honestly got more out of it. The main character makes you grateful to not be normal and I laughed quite a bit.
