Read parts of this for a class in undergrad and liked them so much that I kept a copy. Glad I did.

A very interesting read from the perspective of somebody living with multiple diagnosis's, including schizophrenia. It's eloquently written, and provides fascinating insight into Wang's struggles and successes. It addresses head on the stigma that people with mental illness endure, especially those with schizophrenia. I learned a lot from a medical and psychological perspective (as Wang includes much technical information alongside the personal story), and I learned a lot about her unique experience. I would highly recommend for anybody looking to better understand the perspective of individuals struggling with mental illness.

this collection of essays was well-crafted, but i often felt as if mrs. wang was trying to establish a sense of distance between herself and the really crazy people.
