I remember having to memorise “Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf” and “The Three Little Pigs” for school in a group and thinking how much more interesting and appealing these classic fairy tales and nursery rhymes were through the eyes of Dahl.

Wat doe je als je niet kan slapen door stress? Lekker lezen! En dat betekende onder andere dit boek, die had ik al eens gelezen maar ik kon het niet laten hem nog eens te lezen. Het was een heerlijk boek, ik lag heerlijk dubbel en Roald Dahl laat deze sprookjes helemaal tot leven komen in een gruwelijke manier. Roodkapje die pistooltjes uit haar slipje trekt, vliegende hoofden, boze beren, en meer. Natuurlijk ook superleuk geillustreerd door Quintin Blake. Oh, en bonus punten naar de geweldige vertaling, soms komen grapjes niet over, maar in deze is het allemaal goed gedaan. <3
