Short story that seems to have a lot going on, but short on conclusion. It think that is supposed to be the point...this is a prequel to the Kaitlyn Call series. This and the next installment, a full length novel titled, Girl Missing, were both free downloads...so what's not to like. I do want to see where this goes and I'll read the next book soon.

This book is an introductory short story to the characters and the storyline. It was written decently but I felt like it was overcrowded with the personal drama of the detective with BOTH her boyfriend(?) AND her sister and mom as well as the case she was working on. I also felt like the story moved VERY fast. I did enjoy the reveal of who the killer was and definitely will be picking up the next book in the series (the official first one) and seeing if it’s any good and if the short story just felt how it did because it was so short.
