I love the Boscastles!! This series is so fun, though be warned it falls closer to the erotica category than the romance category - the sex scenes tend to be fairly graphic. I love that Chloe finds love while basically being in exile. And I love that he had connections to her dead brother (though no fault in his death). This is a sweet story with misdirections and ridiculous situations; it's just plain fun.

I'm entering a another romance-novel bender and Jillian Hunter is providing an excellent addition. The Boscastle family is a humorous bunch of passionate, stubborn people who live just on the edge of polite society where they can get away with their scandalous lives, but close enough in to create delicious social tension.

Chloe and Dominic's story is a whirlwind from the moment they meet: when she discovers him in her trunk of undergarments, bleeding from a stab wound. (Yikes!) While their story is fairly predictable, the attraction between them was well-written, as were the secondary characters.

Looking forward to more Boscastle antics!

Chloe Bocastle is seen kissing a gentleman and her brother Grayson, the patriarch of the family, sends her off to the country until the scandal cools off. This happens on the page time of book 1, where Grayson is the hero.

Upon her arrival to the country, she finds her neighbor, Dominic, has been viciously murdered in his bed. Why, then, is he hiding in all of her unmentionables in her room? He is trying to solve the mystery of why someone wants him dead by continuing the play dead.

The first 100 pages take place basically in Chloe's bedroom where she discovers Dominic. I find Hunter's dialogue funny and fast paced, as usual. I think her flow has improved a bit with this story too. Some tension between them is built up, but doesn't go far, since Dominic is wounded.
Dominic had quite the scandalous reputation and now that he's 'dead', people claim his ghost is seducing people during the night. The rumors are quite funny and silly. There's a scene that I loved, where is does descend on Chloe while she sleeps, pleasuring her and leaving behind a white rose.

There were quite a few funny parts in this book. But I thought the character depth was lacking a bit. I also felt like Chloe gave in too fast for Dominic. There was no thought of the future repercussions and they hardly knew each other. I get that happens in romance, but I just didn't feel the build up at this point. Yet, overall, an enjoyable and fun read. Heath, another Boscastle brother, comes in toward the end of the story to wrap up the ends up Chloe's scandalous situation and he is the hero of book 3, The Wedding Night of an English Rogue.

Chloe Bocastle may be a member of an infamous family, but her brothers seem to think that because she is female, she should be held to a higher standard. Plus, she needs to get away from town after being seen kissing a man to whom she is not married.
But, just because she is in the country, it doesn't mean she's going to be proper. Instead, she's too busy falling in love with a man most people believe to be a ghost.
Someone tried to kill Dominic Breckland so he decided to play dead. Only he's been attacked again and ends up hiding in Chloe's unmentionables. He blackmails her into helping him until she starts to help him of her own volition, because, well, he's hot and she's hot for him.

No ten konec mi přišel takový uspěchaný (hlavně, jak si to vyřídili s hlavním záporákem) ale celkově to byla hezká historická romance

A good mystery, although I didn't like this one quite as much as the first book in the series. A couple of plotholes left over (maybe Hunter is saving those). I do like how the Boscastles introduced in book 1 play a continuing part in Chloe's book.

Pretty good book, I enjoyed the characters and plot. I'm not really a fan of her smut but this was pretty decent. And I liked Dominic too.
