I keep comparing all of Mia Sheridan's books to my favorite book of hers, Kyland, and nothing has topped it yet. But, this was still pretty good, though not quite engaging enough for me to read the second book.

Reread 10-31-2021: I reread this just so I could reread Finding Eden. I absolutely love Calder and Eden and Mia Sheridans writing. That is all.

I really enjoyed this story although sometimes I found it hard to get invested in the characters. I loved them all but when I read forbidden romances I always feel so anxious, like every time they’re together I’m scared for them! I love it at the same time haha but I wish I could just appreciate a moment without being worried they’ll get caught. I also like that aspect at the same time ... idk I’m crazy
