I assumed this book would be about the Joffrey ballet style of dance or their pre-professional classes and summer programs. Nope. It's a solid introduction to the world of adult ballet, with emphasis on beginners and people, like me, who danced as children then had a long gap.

Having done adult ballet for over 3 years, I already knew most of what the book has to say, but it's nice to see how other classes are run and how the ones I take are pretty similar. Learned a couple nice things about technique here and overall it's a pretty helpful book.

I would recommend this to someone who's had a couple adult ballet classes. Not so much someone thinking about it or someone who is a veteran, though the book is useful to those groups as well.
