Much better than the last sex club novel I read--Taking The Lead. The characters, plot, and pretty much everything else was just better. I absolutely love when you can't tell which author is writing which chapters. I think that makes a great partnership and that's exactly what happened here.

I actually hated Parker at first, but of course fell in love with him as soon as he showed he could be something other than a meathead.

I really enjoyed Mia as well! She was strong, fierce, and brilliant. And she left that asshole Zac behind for good, thank god!

DNF.
I didn't hate it. I just really, really didn't like it. It was completely unromantic and I felt slightly uncomfortable. Just slightly; but it was there.

Meh. Nothing special. Sometimes the grammar was bad. For two authors with books under their belt, this seemed a little low in quality.

This book was just what I needed after my last read. It was sweet and sultry but also unconventional. It added to my allure of "what would you do if the lights went out." I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the love that Parker and Mia finally succumbed to. They both were unsure of what would happen if they joined Society X but their curiosity got the better of them. Well faith decided to work in their favor they were finally brought together. They have a small bump (I didn't like Zac from the get-go but I also didn't understand what he was trying to do) but they deal with it. I loved the dark room scenes. They weren't to over the top, they just added that unique intrigue. It was definitely the spice that I needed.

So I started this book because I was in the mood for some hot, erotic reading, and I’m sad to say this cover was decieving. It is not as hot and erotic as you think it would be. Quote honestly this book was nothing like I thought it would be or that the cover gives off, so the cover is slightly misleading. Like there’s sex scenes in it but it’s not what you classify as erotica. That being said I still enjoyed this book better than I thought I would, so just be aware the cover slightly misleading.

This follows Mia and Parker both of these people are very closed off at the beginning of this. Mia is just coming out of a relationship and her ex is a dickhead. Parker is very business had through majority of this and the reason he comes to Society X is because if I remember correctly he’s a silent investor or is about to be. (Forgive my bad memory, I read this at the beginning of October. Should teach me to write better notes.)

Parker and Mia are very cute, I love their relationship so they have two sides really the side of them in the dark room where they don’t know it’s each other and then outside the dark room where Parker is friends with Andrew her brother. I love how much you can tell they care about each other but the banter is hilarious between them.

I love that Parker gives Mia a chance by letting him work with her and believing in her abilities is really sweet and I love it.

I must admit a scene that did make me chuckle is Parker telling himself not to be attracted to Mia despite already sleeping with her in the Dark room, it did make chuckle. I mean unknown to him but he’d already had sex with her. The attraction between these two characters were off the charts, Parker’s reaction when he discovers it’s Mia, but oh my god Mia figuring it out because she met the person who made her necklace. I was on the edge of my seat during those scenes.

I loved Parker admitting his feelings for Mia to her brother and then him already knowing. I love it in stories where everyone else already knows how they feel aboute each other than than them.

I really enjoyed this book, it wasn’t as hot as I thought it would be. The scenes in The Dark room was intense and the sex was written really well. I really enjoyed reading these two authors and I did continue to read the other books in this series although each book can be read as a standalone.

Not at all what I was expecting, but I like it!

I was expecting an alpha male, some BDSM, two strangers anonymously having sex and deciding they "want more," then launch into a citywide search for one another(?)... maybe...? I don't know, I was not expecting two childhood friends (almost high school sweethearts), a sweet, "nice guy" billionaire, and light 'n easy sex scenes. The whole thing: tone, story, characters, it was all so far from my expectations going in, but it really wasn't a turn off for me. I enjoyed the story.

I was disgruntled that it ended so quickly. It was a quick read I devoured in one afternoon sitting.
