I actually listened to this book on tape (when I went through that whole kick) and I was laughing out loud the whole time.

I enjoyed this book- although not as much as her personal memoirs. Still an excellent first novel.

This book is laugh out loud funny. It reminds me of some of my own misadventures. My family has heard passages because I am reading and laughing out loud and want to know what is funny. I will say that about half way through, the plot is easy to figure out and you will draw the main characters conclusions before she does. This novel is easy to read and entertaining to boot. IF you are looking for a bit of humor, pick this up.

No stars. Most poorly written book I have ever read, and I've read the Twilight series. The author was trying too hard to be funny and it felt like she had just finished a creative writing class....she tried to stuff a simile into every sentence.

Humor is so hard. This title and the few top reviews I scanned drew me in, though I never shared the "totally hilarious"-esque reviews shared by others. The plot concept was totally bonkers and the whole book was generally enjoyable.

An easy read and completely enjoyable while I was on Christmas break and for my first Kindle book. I loved the main character, Maye, and she had a great and wicked sense of humor.

This book is different than Notaro's other books. Instead of short stories in memoir style, this was a fiction book. I felt like it was "fiction based on real life" because it was about a reporter moving from Arizona to Washington.

The story was pretty good. I read the book in just a few days because it was a fast read. The same hilarious, weird sense of humor that Notaro's other books had were in this book too. It was good!
