Reads like a novella/short romance. Fast paced but not a lot of depth because of how short it is. Unique that it was an audio only book- I liked the shifts made due to it being that way (sound effects, full cast, removal of “he said/she said”). Cute but not something that will stick with me.

disclaimer if you’ve read other reviews by me and are noticing a pattern: You’re correct that I don’t really give starred reviews, I feel like a peasant and don’t like leaving them and most often, I will only leave them if I vehemently despised a book. I enjoy most books for what they are, & I extract lessons from them all. Everyone’s reading experiences are subjective, so I hope my reviews provide enough information to let you know if a book is for you or not, regardless if I add stars or not. Thank you to Libro.FM & Simon & Schuester Audio for this audiobook original. Sharing an honest review after listening to an ALC 🤎

This is set two years after the events of The Unhoneymooners, with Olive & Ethan planning to elope in Maui because Olive truly believes their family’s weddings are cursed. Her twin sister Ami refuses to let this “curse” ruin Olive’s big day so she agrees to plan their small wedding with 30 guests within 10 days! Olive & Ethan enlist Ethan’s best man (thank goodness it wasn’t cheating ass Dane lol) Brody to help Ami with this huge lift! As they get closer, chemistry and tension builds & they develop their own little love story.

The entire cast of this audiobook was so much fun. I rarely listen to audiobooks with full casts (I think the last one was Daisy Jones & The Six by TJR) & this was an absolute delight! It felt like a cinematic experience hehe.

Harry Shum Jr. narrating steamy scenes is dangerous for all people who are attracted to men everywhere lmao. He is daddy and I need him in more romcoms please.

Overall, I loved uptight Ami, golden retriever Brody (4 years younger than her), & the family dynamics. It was such an enjoyable couple of hours to spend with them all!

cw: infidelity, medical content

steam: 2/5 — I’m giving this a 2 because there were a few steamy scenes but idk how to describe it. They almost felt like closed door & I felt like they talked about having sex more than there was actual on-page explicit sex.
