One of my favorite books now. I don't frequently read books that make me cry, much less one that can make me cry before the end. This one did it. Every story had me captivated, enriched, and hanging onto every word. Simmons was able to completely develop whole worlds within this universe while also having the reader needing more.

Some of the pilgrim’s stories were really captivating and engaging while others fell completely flat for me. With relatively little overarching plot development, this ~500 page novel felt more like a drawn out prologue than a stand-alone adventure.
