Salt Magic was such a beautiful and endearing graphic novel! Its whimsical and slightly unsettling atmosphere reminded me a lot of Studio Ghibli films, and the characters were all very interesting and charming.

Salt Magic was a gorgeous middle grade graphic novel about family, sacrifice, and love. i loved the magic systems in play, as well as the backstory of the witches and Vonceil’s family.

the pacing was a little off to me, and i wish the minor conflicts had been stronger, but overall this was a fun, quick read and i will definitely be following the illustrator’s work in the future!

This whimsical and emotional graphic novel has a fairytale feel. The main character is jealous of losing her brother's attention to his new wife, but she is also selfless and loves her family. Some elements could've been expanded more.

Salt Magic is a short but sweet tale about growing up and overcoming the desire to stay young forever. I adored the protagonist, Vonceil, from the very beginning – she has such a strong personality and it’s impossible not to root for her.

I bought this book for its stunning cover. The artwork inside isn’t quite as beautiful, but it’s expressive and full of character. It’s clear that a great deal of care has gone into the designs – from the characters to the architecture to the props and vehicles. It’s a well-crafted graphic novel all round :)
