I loved it. Every second.

The art was stunning, the women beautiful, the decisions made by the characters, the magic and the resolution all wonderful.

I took so many pictures

I just wish I could have seen a glimpse of Vonceils adventures, after the story, maybe her confronting her family when she got back, but then again sometimes leaving things to the readers imagination is for the best.
It’s hard to compete with infinite possibilities.

Edit: so uh it been a few minutes but o can’t stop thinking about those last few pages. And now I’m crying. Thank you giving her and this story such a beautiful end.

I’m going to be thinking about this a lot, I’m sure of it.

Wow! Having enjoyed several of Hope Larson's other titles, I picked this up on sight at the library. The story is really engaging and feels different and unique while giving off a great Studio Ghibli/fairy tale energy. I loved the setting, the characters, the story, and the artwork.

Old Western poverty lore meets fantastical, creative Magic system - Salt Magic was super creative, beautifully illustrated and dark. I loved it.

The artwork was really lovely and the plot was compelling. Larson manages to create characters with great depth in an incredibly short period of time.

This had a greater impact on me than I was expecting. It lured me in with a simple story of a girl who's upset with the changes wrought on her brother during his deployment in France. If you think you know where this one is going, you're probably wrong. It was stunning. I'm tempted to give this one 5 stars; I have to think on it.
