i loved damon even before i read the book but beginning was to spread out. there were some unnecessary stuff and it could have been shorter. even tho i adored both of them it was hard to get into but no doubt there are my fave couple. idk why they just are okay... seeing more inside damons head and more of there past was really interesting

Overall:
I still hate Damon. I don't know why anyone likes him. I do like Winter, however. It's such a messy book, it reveals a lot of hidden stuff that wasn't expected in the first few books, but as soon as the hints are given, it's easy to pick out. I do like how more playful this book is in the sense that the guys all come back to Thunder Bay to partake in more Devil's Night pranks. Overall, it's not a terrible book, but Damon still isn't my favorite; Hideaway has my heart. I honestly think Penelope really wanted Damon to remain the villain, and BookTok just took him and ran with it.

I have to be honest, when I first started this series I did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did! I loved the mood, the dark themes, the secrets and the betrayals, and while I can’t say I was immediately hooked, I did find myself gradually falling in love with the four horseman.

The series as a whole is about four friends that were high school hotshots, where three of the four have spent the last three years in prison for their pranks back in the day. Each book highlights a different friend and their respective love interest, with the most common theme being a revenge plot line. My biggest gripe, if you will, is that these men did not do nearly enough groveling, which is a MUST in this type of genre. Additionally, there was some questionable conduct for the high school aged portions, which always makes me feel a little icky.

When I say I went from hating Damon to thinking, okay, he's misunderstood to loving him, that's what happened! Damon redeemed himself 100% in this book. Yes, he still does very questionable things throughout, but he does it for the people he cares about the most.

Winter - I really enjoyed her character and how she navigates the world blind. She's so strong and doesn't let that stop her from what she loves. I get why what happened in their past happened and how she felt used by Damon not telling her who he was and the consequences that caused. Her family are HORRIBLE! And I'm so glad she finds a new family within Damon and the others.

The only part of this book I didn't enjoy as much is the flashbacks to years ago. I could have easily enjoyed the book without them and them just talking about it in the present time of the book.

yeah i’m obsessed. knew i would be but oh my god. literally so many emotions felt throughout this entire book. cried multiple times. i love damon and his story and winter is literally his perfect partner. like oh my god. fully getting his backstory in its entirety broke me into a billion pieces but also healed me. i just want to squeeze both of them and tell them im proud of them.
