I didn't know what to think of this book. I didn't even think I was going to love this book at all. However, I do and I am both happy to find a new favourite author and book, and sad because this book is absolutely heartbreaking.

This was a really great example of middle-grade fiction. I would have loved this when I was 12 years old and I loved it at 28 years old!

it was cute but also a bit sad, which I think is to be expected from a ghost story..
it gives cozy mystery vibes, I liked it ^_^

I had never heard of this book but picked it up at a library booksale. This book was beautifully written and made me tear up. This book is a ghost story but more important a story about a friendship and so much more. A perfect fall read and one that I will recommend to others!

It all started after page 252 when everything around me started spinning and I, seriously not lying, felt light-headed...  Wth?? So freaking unexpected.. so unexpected... So unexpected.. so unexpected.....
(At this moment idk when Mom came behind me and said my name and I literally jumped on the bed bumping my head on the wall... Are you alright, honey? (Mom).... )

I knew something wasn't right with Polly and Rose but this was unbelievably S.H.O.C.K.I.N.G!

This is pretty well written. I've read such book after a long time and I think it's a 5 star book. I don't agree with the title though. A different, interesting and spooky kind of title would be better. I'm glad I picked it up! Thanks for writing it. It'll probably stay in my head for some time.

I received THE SWALLOW: A GHOST STORY as an ARC through netgalley.com.

Wonderful. THE SWALLOW transports its readers to Toronto in the 1960s where two twelve-year-old neighbors forge a deep friendship in spite of (or maybe _because_ of) the fact that they are complete opposites in nearly every aspect. Framing this tale of the strength of friendships amidst the loneliness and dissatisfaction of adolescence is a ghost story, both frightening and thought-provoking, if occasionally predictable.

More than twenty years ago, when I was small, another book with the subtitle "A Ghost Story" captured my heart and mind, and reading THE SWALLOW brought me right back to those days. I hope many young people find this book and get as much enjoyment out of it as I did out of [b:Stonewords: A Ghost Story|715316|Stonewords A Ghost Story |Pam Conrad|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1387705471s/715316.jpg|527659] in the early 90s.
