This is a forbidden romance story. It's forbidden as although Emma is free to marry, Garrick has accepted an arranged political betrothal.

Each story in this series is a standalone book with a complete story for each couple per book but secondary characters appear from previous and future books so I would recommend reading the series in order.
There is also a certain amount of politics going on in the background which builds in each book, allies, enemies etc.

They get to know each other but the issue is how can they have a future together with the repercussions so great if the Earl breaks his betrothal.

There is quite a bit of angst. A good story.

HEA. Small epilogue but the couple do appear in later books so the reader can see how their relationship progresses.

Another great story!

I was very much looking forward to reading Emma's love story, and was not disappointed.Once again Cecelia has made another great book. I loved the chemistry between Emma and Garrick from the beginning. I like That Emma seems to bring out Garrick's more playful side, when he would otherwise be so serious. This was another great book in an already great series and I look forward to reading the rest.

I have not read the other books in the series, but romances rarely need to be read in order. I enjoyed Emma and Garrick's story. There is a lot of tension and build up. The HEA is sweet.

I would like to thank the author Cecelia Mecca for a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This book focuses on the Waryn sister, Emma and Garrick, an earl in both England and Scotland. When enemies make the need for a strong Scottish marriage alliance necessary, Garrick travels to Scotland to meet his future wife. However he stops at an old friends castle and meets Lady Emma.

The love story was really interesting and got more complex as it went on. I was constantly wondering if they were actually going to end up together.
