A bit too 'aww shucks' for me at times but otherwise a great book that deals with often underrepresented themes.

The first volume of Animal Man is very interesting - it's episodic but there is a strange sense of something bigger happening, even if I can't come close to guessing what. Maybe Buddy is mad? Oh well, I will be reading more to find out exactly what is happening!

4 stars simply for that Wile E. Coyote in the real world take off. Trippy.

I actually enjoyed this more than I probably thought I would. I read this right after my arduous journey through Morrison's run in Batman, and prayed to God that this wasn't as confusing.

It wasn't, it obviously has all the elements of Grant Morrison which you either love or hate, making this a solid 3* for me.

This was a lot of fun! Morrison's a weirdo but as a result this felt really creative and fresh. I found Animal Man's character arc to be pretty effective, and it's cool to see him politicized in the first few issues.

RIP Wile E. Coyote.
Yes, he's in this.
No, it's not the fabled Looney Toons crossover with DC.
But duuuude...
