I am completely obsessed with this series.
It was my first dark fantasy romance and I ATE THAT SHIT UP!!
I can not properly explain how much I loved this book. Apart from the fact I already love vampires and dark fantasy in other media. Reading through this story was like a breath of fresh air. Having medieval style vampires instead of twilight vampires (EW!)
The direction of the story surprised me completely and honestly, 5 months later I still can not believe that ending. At 2am in the morning I wanted to scream at the betrayal. That bastard.
I have read book 2, book 3 really is testing my patience, the release date needs to hurry up and get here!

I didn't even get 10 pages in and gave up. Not even a chapter in and the heroine is already fingering herself because of a 5 second encounter? Eesh. Give me some more depth before smut please.

If the meme "I don't have time for pleasantries, show me your wiener" was a book, this would be it.
It is an okay read, but I had a very hard time connecting to the characters. It was also one of the few times, where whole chapters just felt like words on paper for me. It could still be enjoyable, but maybe I was not in the right headspace for it.

i did enjoy this alot - although i felt The FMC seemed to emasculate the King a little from being an Alpha male Per se..... but it was a good read, i was getting a bit bored of vampires but this has brought my interest back just in time for Halloween!
