There is literally nothing better than this extended series… I just love this world Ruby has created. So when I see that she’s EXPANDED upon it again… I love every moment of it.

Rosalind is a believable and relatable lead, she’s kinda scared and stands up for herself but also has moments of doubt and depression. I appreciate being able to see that range of emotion from her. She adds just a perfect bit of flavor to the cast and suits R’jaal perfectly. Her going through the transition of her new reality, accepting things about the world and herself, was beautiful to witness. This is one of the deeper stories in this extended universe, specifically for the female lead, and I loved it.

R’jaal is happy basically the entire book and I couldn’t get enough of his joy. After waiting for SOOO long to finally have a mate, Rosalind is perfect for him and he knows it immediately. When I first read the teaser in Flor’s book I knew I was going to adore these two and I did. We also get to see an expansion of R’jaal’s character while he deals with what he can do to make his mate happy which was enjoyable. I liked his musing the most probably.

The spice was HOT every time! It was sooo perfect! Even though there wasn’t a lot of build up to their first sexual encounter, we also spend a good amount of time really getting to know them and how they feel so it’s extremely easy to get into their romance and spicy scenes. I need to know a character before I can read spice, I need to care about them as people, and since we already basically knew R’jaal from previous books, the time was spent really getting to know Rosalind. She’s such a nerd, an adorable nerd, which I believe helped as lots of readers will be able to connect with her very quickly.

Oh my god, the world building!!! That’s my favorite part to be honest. I just love when we learn more about this planet and the universe. Ruby really set us up to keep learning with the following books and made it all so interesting so I simply can’t resist them. I’ll be waiting very impatiently to learn more.

Little note about Tia, she was great in this book and for the first time I really felt for her. She had her moments to shine and that made me excited for her story as well.

So we finally get R’jaal’s book, a whole new series, and even more new characters! And it’s all great. R’jaal is lovely as you knew he would be, Rosalind is generally fun— the fanfic thing gets a bit overdone, and I say that AS A FANFIC WRITER (and no, we don’t all write mpreg

Sweet, sweet beautiful alien man R'jaal. ❤️ I was so impatient while I waited for his story. That man has been the most deserving of a mate and the loneliest when time and time again he didn't resonate.

To no one's surprise I adored R'jaal. I always have but finally getting to dig deeper into his thoughts only solidified my feelings. That man was the sweetest and most attentive mate a woman could ask for. He was just so understanding and patient with Rosalind. He wanted to give her the world and would have tried had she asked. He was simply grateful to finally find his mate at first but seconds turned to minutes and hours and that man was a goner. He found so much to love about Rosalind and that was even before he truly had a real conversation with her. I love that it wasn't simply Rosalind was his mate and therefore she is his and he loves her. He genuinely adored her from the first because she's his long awaited mate but watching him fall in love with her quirks and humor was so cute!

As usual it takes me a minute to warm to most of RD's heroines and sometimes I never do. But I really did come to like Rosalind. Her thoughts about fanfic at first were off putting for me because I'm not as into fandoms these days or fanfic anymore so there was a bit of disconnect with the humor Ruby was trying to convey in those thoughts. That was a me problem though. And as we get to know Rosalind more and her fanfic talents and humors continue to reappear they became amusing and lightened the entire book. Especially so when she'd randomly connect something happening to her and R'jaal to a fanfic she wrote or researched and it'd break the seriousness of the story and make you laugh at her inappropriate thoughts. That in itself was relatable because who doesn't think the most random and weird thoughts when it's the absolute wrong time?
