I loved feisty Reveka and the way the book wrapped the Twelve Dancing Princesses up with a kind of Beauty and the Beast. Anyone that enjoyed Ella Enchanted would probably enjoy this one too. Great wintery gray afternoon reading.

Aside from the rushed ending, I loved this book. I LOVED the herbology--it was so detailed and fascinating, and it absolutely brought Reveka to life. I loved the darker undertones, the imagery, the details of the underworld, the interesting twists of the fairytales that inspired it. I wasn't expecting the darker themes from the cover and blurb but enjoyed it nonetheless. I do wish the ending was more fleshed out and less abrupt, or that there was a sequel to follow!

This book looked promising to me. However, it ended up being too drawn out with a dry plot. All of the characters could have used more substance and the protagonist seemed one dimensional. I would suggest The Thirteenth Princess by Diane Zahler over this version of the 12 dancing princesses tale.

A very entertaining read. The ending was rushed, and the incorporation of the mythological elements of the story was a bit hodgepodge, but still a most enjoyable novel. I am looking forward to the sequel. I'm bummed that it's been four years, and there doesn't even seem to be a promised date of publication for a conclusion to Reveka's story.

I totally fell in love with this book the moment I started it. The main character, Reveka, was really awesome and her intellect and wit was so refreshing. The prose and pacing was pretty top-notch for me!

Wow, just wow. I was NOT expecting to like this book so much. I was not expecting this at all. And all the suprising elements that were there made it so original! The mixture of Fairy Tales and mythology and it was done in such a great way! Witty, smart and brave main character. Engaging story and plot, with enough mystery to keep you wanting to know more. Wonderful setting and just absolutely wonderful overall. What a page turner! Best book I've read in a long time! I hope I love Handbook for a Dragon Slayer as much as I loved this one! Highly Recommended!

The Princess Curse was such an imaginative take on the two classic tales of The Twelve Dancing Princesses and Beauty and the Beast. Merrie intertwined the stories seamlessly, creating a magical tale.

Reveka was a great protagonist. She was selfless and brave, yet she still had selfish thoughts and desires, much like a real person. That is something that I feel is lacking in books, so it was refreshing to see realistic qualities within the protagonist.

Now, this book may be classified under middle-grade, but this story holds so many deeper and mature elements. Like political tactics and abuse and lies, along with details of herbary and other magical elements. There are a few juvenile moments, though I would say people of all ages would enjoy this book.

Absolutely loved this book, especially when it turned into a Hades and Persephone type story. So many fantastic lines that I adore.

Reveka is a fun character and I hope to see her and Frumos/Dragos return in a sequel someday. There are so many possibilities for them and I would love to find out how their story continues.
