SMG's books always end up being a solid "nice" for me, and I think this one hit a little better than the other ones I've read so far. I was thoroughly intrigued the whole time plus that fun running undercurrent of "god this tourist family really sucks." Gregory's a creep and it was so well done! Love how SMG's protags are all film autistics tbh. Viridiana soothing herself at night by reciting romantic film lines, girl after my own heart.

One of my favorite authors. Was surprised by how much I liked seemed different from other books found some good commentary about influences of society on women and concepts of themselves and in relationships

With its plot twists, fast pace, and intriguing setup, Untamed Shore hooked me from start to finish. The summer heat added a hazy quality to the novel, and the ending caught me off guard. My main annoyance was that Viridiana becomes increasingly unlikeable as the plot progresses, heightening from the middle of Chapter 22 and onward. This book is ideal for anyone in a reading slump, but the payoff may be more disappointing than the experience.

I liked the dark almost neo noir elements, but I was expecting more in terms of it being a thriller. I was also hoping for even just a minor paranormal element, but that wasn't the case.
