I throughly enjoyed this book after borrowing it from a friend. It was a lighthearted read for some classic escapism, and made me laugh out loud in places.

Although it is very comical, there are also moments of vulnerability through the elements of sexuality, identity and motherhood, as well as expressing ourselves as humans.

Three women, three totally different lives. And yet they are all judged by society! This novel is all about how women are treated because they have children, because they don't have children, because they can't have children. It is hilarious, awful, infuriating, delightful and above all powerful.
It has some very unexpected twists as well. I did that thing, where I had to put the book down and have a cup of tea because something happened that I did not see coming. You know what I'm talking about, we all do it. I love this book. If there's a sequel I'm definitely going to read it!

The plot hinges on the random cyclist that bumps into Jason in one paragraph, pretty weak set up for the main conflict. Some of it was funny, some of it felt very 2000s, i.e. Britney Spears joke, r slur, terfy language. This can of course be in a book but none of it is challenged.

This book really blew me away and is nothing like anything else I've ever read. It's a lesson in feminism, female friendships and relationships, sexism, the pressures of being a woman, judgement, society, media, lifestyle...and tonnes more. I found it completely gripping, shocking in parts and very thought provoking. I found myself judging Stella's seemingly crazy behaviour, HARD. But then I was siding with Tara in thinking people were wrong to judge her. THEN I realised my own hypocrisy. It's rare that I feel that a fictional story impacts in terms of affecting my thoughts but this actually did make me stop and think, about my own judgemental nature in particular. It was totally fascinating and my favourite book I've read this year so far.
