This is the sea voyage book I've been looking for all my life!
It has solid world building, and an interesting twist to common naval terms that I greatly enjoyed. For example ships are referred to as "he", and the captain is called a "shipwife". (this can take some time getting used to)
This is the first book in a trilogy, but I fell like it stands very well on it's own. Even so, I'm in desperate need of getting my hands on book two right this instant! Lucky for me, book two will be released this month.

Ich wurde durch die Ankündigung, es sei so ähnlich wie Patrick O'Brian, aber mit Drachen, angelockt, und eigentlich hatte es viele Elemente, die ich mag: Seefahrt, kompetente Frauen, interessantes Worldbuilding (ohne Baumhäuser, aber nur knapp). Trotzdem hatte ich nach dem ersten Band keine Lust mehr und habe den zweiten, schon ausgeliehenen, ungelesen zurückgegeben. Aber vielleicht muss ich den zweiten doch noch lesen, um rauszufinden, woran mein Desinteresse liegt.
