Great story

The book started a little slow and I was a bit confused by the prologue, however I am thrilled that I stuck it out past the first couple chapters as the book picked up pace. This group of vampires is a little different than other vampire stories I've read, which made it very intriguing. I am excited to read more about what is in store for all of the characters. Will revenge be sought now that Mitzi has returned? What is everyone's reaction to Cass's news to Charley going to be like.

This was a fantastic vampire tale with vampires that are different from the norm. The differences to typical vampire mythos makes them stand out and easily remembered. The first half of the book explores the characters, their interactions, and their personal stories. This makes the characters come alive, and it gets you invested in what's happening with them. These life like characters are so well written, that when the action starts you're in fear for them, in awe of them, and stuck on every word to see what happens to them. Great characters are the backbone of any story, and this one has a steel backbone.

The prose in the novel flows at a wonderful pace. It's slowed down in the areas it should be slowed down and jumps to a frenetic pace when it needs to be. It makes the reading of the story an absolute pleasure as nothing feels bogged down or too rushed.

The story itself is fantastic. It was almost impossible to put down, as I wanted to know what happened next and didn't want to wait.

From start to finish, this was an amazing piece, and I can't wait to get to the next book in the series.
