It is a must-read for all Chinese - the classic folk-tale about the Monkey King, this version translated into English. I was born in the year of the Monkey, so this book and folk-tale is of particular significance to me.

Probably the funniest book ever written. extremely fast paced and off the wall. I loved it
(It did get more boring when Monkey got Enlightened, but I'll forgive it for that)

I read this in my Sophomore Adv. English class, and I thought it was a pretty decent book. My biggest problem was that it seemed to drag on forever, and there would be parts that were completely pointless for the story. I did like the symbolism and the religious ideology involved in the book, and I hope to read it again and hopefully I will gain more understanding this time.
