Based on the cover, and the first chapter, I was going to quit reading this one. But I stuck it out, and I am really glad I did because it was a clever, entertaining book with a lot of dry humour.

This book really snuck up on me as a Steampunk book. It starts and continues as a great period fiction. It might be YA but might not. It resonates well no matter the reader's age and the characters vary in maturity even within age brackets. Can't wait to read more from Mr. Marlowe.
