In this second volume of the Ladies of Almacks, the sought after 3rd volume of the 50 Shades of Udolpho by E.C. Spruce goes missing - all the volumes from all the bookshops, lending libraries, Amazon private homes of London. The Ladies, wild to read the next installment, investigate the mystery.
This story was just as much fun as the first one - a bit more humor and a bit more romance, but was equally light and frothy. In addition to Annabel's shadow magic, we see a half gorgon, the patron demon of scribes, and some light mind reading. You can just tell the author is having a lot of fun with these short books.
