I don't think there are many young women in Finland who haven't, at some point, fallen in love with Edith Södergran.
Her poetry has darkness, witty dry humour, beauty and fantasy. A choice to be herself completely and who cares what anybody says? How could we not be inspired and moved?
As she herself says (in my translation): " I must not make myself smaller than I am." (the forward to Septemberlyran, 1918).

I love this woman. I'd recommend her works even to those people who might not like poetry that much. The subjects she writes about are still relevant today and I think that's why many people, young and old, will relate to her works. Feminism, LGBTQ+ themes, gender (neutrality), etc. Very inspiring writing, makes you reflect on your own experiences in life. My favourites are probably Till fots fick jag gå genom solsystemet, Lyckokatt and Jag.
