I LOVE THIS BOOK!
If you're in the slightest into witchy shit, looking for an absolute comfort read and want to get lost in a magical world for a while - this is the book for you.
Yes, it has it's romance (and even steamy) parts, but I wouldn't call it a romance book overall. It's much more about the love of a found family and the feeling of home.
338 pages weren't enough, i would have read a thousand more.

What a warm and cozy book! Full of humor and heart and amazingly manages to be sweet but not saccharine. All the characters are so likable (well except Edward) that I know I’ll want to revisit them in the future.

THE COZIEST CUTEST FOUND FAMILY GRUMPY/SUNSHINE WITCHY READ EVER
(with a bonus of an incredibly diverse ensemble of characters - from identities to skin color to age to personalities)
If that didn't convince you to read, try this list:
- hot, grumpy Irish librarian
- cute witchy pets
- three young sisters who fight hilariously
- our main character's obsession with classic novels
- POTION MAKING
- COLLECTING STAR DUST
- Two old gays who are stupidly in love
- did I mention the hot, grumpy Irish librarian quotes "If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more"
- Island of misfit toys vibes (aka gang of misfits all living together in found family at "Nowhere House")
- Magical missions and side quests!!!
JUST READ IT.

I flew through this. It gives House in the Cerulean Sea, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children vibes, and I'm a sucker for a grumpy/sunshine trope. The story and characters were like a warm hug, and I'm very pleased it was my first read of October.
