Excellent imagination & ideas

I've always enjoyed post-singularity themed books, but until now, most authors introduce a couple of good ideas, then build a long story around them.

In contrast, the Post-Human series keeps ideas & new advances coming like the staccato of an automatic gun. Most of them are accompanied by enough logic about how they work, came to be, or connect with physics, that you can almost believe these are real, possible (long-term) futures. Of course they probably aren't going to be real ever, but it is a good writer that can make you think so when you're reading.

I'm off to read the next books by the author. Lovin' this.

Interesting concept, but poorly written. Trite characters and dialog.

I actually only read 1-3. I couldn't commit to one more. The characters were amazingly boring. The plot was both slow and plodding, then with bursts of kind of boring action that followed suit in all three books.

I'm glad the character I thought was the main character wasn't because he was immensely boring to read. Not that the actual "Main" character was any better. Add that characters go from strong and passionate about their story to 5th level characters with little actual personality. One simply became a whole new person it seems.

So yeah, made it 75% before throwing in the towel, and don't care at all how the series wraps up.

Again the writing is just bad. And I have a real problem with two-page chapters. Happily, I bought this trilogy for like a dollar. Sadly, I'm a completist so I still need to read the third novel in the series.

Interesting. At some times it seemed a bit campy (like "Star Trek - The Original Series") and at other times it was like the author had watched Tron one too many times. [Spoiler alert] I'm not sure how everyone's consciousness could be written to a "hard drive". Why would people so far in the future use contemporary profanity?
