A good, cheesy romance that throws in a little self discovery along the way.
My biggest concern was over the synopsis. It mentions Crawford waking up and not remembering Vale WHICH IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED AT ALL WHATSOEVER. So I’m very confused by that 😂😂

Definitely would not recommend. One key point in the synopsis didn’t even happen. I get wanting to have a major plot twist “no one will see coming”, however, don’t say something is going to happen that never does. It was a big part of why I got the book. I am not a fan of that at all.
Also, there were parts to the book that were, in my opinion, not YA appropriate.

Okay.. wtf

I went into this book literally not even reading the back and I'm glad I did because it's the type of book which needs that in my opinion.

I was having a blast for the first half of the book. My heart was fluttering and i was actually getting flustered at times. I loved vale and it made me so happy that she was finally figuring out what was wrong in her life and her relationship and decided to put herself first for once and live, I couldn't stop smiling just ask my husband..

And then there's a twist, one that I didn't see coming at all and whilst there was nothing wrong with the twist and I certainly found it interesting... I was just enjoying the story so much and I felt a pang of disappointment.

I did continue to enjoy the story and quickly got sucked back in however I do wish the book had been a bit longer so the second half could have been developed more and the relationship going on could have had more to it.

I really did enjoy this book despite that but damn I just can't get over it!

I enjoyed it, just don't know how I feel about a critical plot point. On one hand, I didn't see it coming, on the other it felt like I wasted the first half

I received this through Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

On the night of graduation, Vale and her boyfriend are in a car accident. While she is fine, he is in a coma. Vale goes to the hospital everyday and reads to him, when his parents allow her in the room. Everyone is pushing Vale to continue living her life, as opposed to staying only at the hospital. After meeting her brother's playboy frat brother, Slate, she begins to take the steps to go away to college and make new friends. While she will not move on from her boyfriend, Vale finds that she has feelings for Slate.

This is a tradition new adult book. I was not a fan of how Slate's promiscuous ways were addressed. I was vaguely offended by Slate's male chauvinism, but I think it is a trope of the genre. This read more like the YA version of an adult romance novel...one with a muscled man in a ripped shirt on the front. This read alot like Jamie McGuire's Beautiful Disaster.

"Look, aunt Vale. That boy is kissing that nurse." "Did she fix his boo-boo?" Malyn asked curiously.

"He pressed a kiss to the tip of my nose." It's just you Vale. For the first time in my life I'm not looking. I found what was missing."

I rely enjoyed this book and will definitely be adding it to my read again list.!!
