If I had to rate this trilogy by how much I liked each book, it would go like this:
1. The Broken Kingdoms
2. The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms
3. The Kingdom of Gods
However, this does not mean that this is a bad book. Far from it. It was beautifully written, had incredible character depth and development and a great ending. It's just that the plot was kind of all over the place at times. You didn't know which thread to follow or whether there even was a thread, other than Sieh's journey.
I liked this book a lot and will read anything N.K. Jemisin writes in the future.

i think overall this book has the strongest character relationships and development. it was a joy to see plotlines finally come together after the first two books. sieh is the best narrator of the three books, simply because he has so many interesting feelings and and seeing him deal with his emotions is so satisfying. plotwise? i think this book is the weakest in the trilogy. 3.5

Third book in the Inheritance Trilogy and I think I said the same thing about the first two books - its good, but not as good as Broken Earth.

(Wow, I think that trilogy has grown in my memory. It was REALLY good.)

This entry focuses on the god Sieh and is set about a century after the last one. He is an interesting character. The strength of Jemisin’s work is her characters and her writing. Someone like Brandon Sanderson excels in worldbuilding and while Jemisin does a lot of that as well, its not the core of this series. For example, I’d love a map of this world. It is a big world (a hundred thousand kingdoms?) but much of the focus remains on Sky, the land around it and a few other places.

This is fine. Its just worth noting that the emphasis is more on character. And Sieh is a great character. Jemisin is a great writer as well. If you’re looking for a fantasy story that’s non-stop action (pow POW!) then this may not be for you.

The other thing I’d mention is I like how Jemisin breaks the boundaries of fantasy. I say this as someone who has read a lot of fantasy but not as much as a lot of other people. So maybe I’m wrong. But she does seem to avoid familiar tropes (the chosen one!) as well as surprise readers with twists and turns.

Overall, a fine end to a solid trilogy.

I truly am not sure how I’d rank these three books. I think I liked the first one the best and this one just a nudge ahead of book two.

Worst book of the series 😟 At least the first two could be stand alones. I was sad because I loved Sieh in the first book but him as the narrator/main character just didn't work for me here.
Spoiler I'm just shocked like Jemisin really took me from hating Itempas in the beginning of the trilogy to having compassion for him and kind of liking him by the end. But with Sieh it was the opposite, by the end I was tired of him and cared less.
