4.5 stars. I’m as shocked as anyone at how much I enjoyed this book. For me personally, this was the best of the FBAA world. The characters, plot, pacing were all spot on and the action was compelling. I am way more invested in this story line then even the original.

Jennifer Armentrout knows her genre. She does it well, very well. Readers will feel compelled to continue reading/listening to her books and sequels. Is it great literature, amazing prose...no. But who cares? Just relax and enjoy.

A bit predictable. The prophecy is convoluted af. Ash obviously does love her and won’t admit it to himself (common theme with JLA books I think). But now he is forced to love her or everything and everyone will die.
This whole world is so interesting though. I’m relatively new to fantasy books but I’m finally understanding why everyone is so obsessed with world building. I feel like this is such a good balance of world building and romance. I love that this came after 3 books in the FBAA series because it makes the world feel so much bigger.

Editing after reading WOTQ: we get lots of cross over in WOTQ and it makes everything in this book click more. Like the prophecy. It felt convoluted because more than one person could fit the first daughter role, and because it’s talking about 3 people when I originally thought one person fit 2 roles. But now we know and it all makes sense.
