This is a fast paced police procedural. The way Wallander and his team deduced the identity of the killer was interesting. But I didnt care for the writing. It read like a journal, maybe because of the poor translation. As I am not familiar with Swedish names, all the names were confusing. Again, there was lot of Wallander's personal story, which I skimmed over. The subplot of citizen militia was not necessary.

really good. enjoyed it. Mankell's story-development keeps getting better and better imo.

YAS I FINISHED IT.
This book started kind of slow but, of course, at the end it picks up. It really frustrated me that Wallander had this awful memory! He was like 'He knew he recognized it from somewhere... But he couldn't remember...' UUHHG NOT HELPING WALLANDER
