A gorgeous picture book that I had to add to my reading challenge.

This stunningly illustrated counting book includes fun facts about each of the animals, what their babies are called, and gorgeous paper cuts. Highly recommended for PreK-1st grade.

This book is gorgeous, and the text has a great flow. But, I can't be the only one that had trouble finding some of the flaps, can I? lol.

My niece and I tried to find all of the hidden spiders. How are we supposed to know if we found them all?

Definitely a beautiful book with great illustrations. I'm partially basing my rating on the fact that the mouse page had three flaps which felt confusing and like too many. I worry it's so fragile that it wouldn't hold up well in a public library collection. That said, I think it's a great choice for one on one reading.

A thing of beauty in illustrations and simplicity of text.
I love the subtle gilding, the flaps, the noveau-feel of the illustrations.
